Wie You can find out more on how this was done in a case study on the Amazon listing translation from German into six languages for the German company SaleLab.

FROM GERMAN TO FRENCH, ITALIAN, SPANISH, SWEDISH, DUTCH, AND POLISH

CHALLENGE#1
Specific style and consideration of the target group
CHALLENGE#2
Following the rules of Amazon
CHALLENGE#3
Technical text extraction software development

CHALLENGE #1
SPECIFIC STYLE AND CONSIDERATION OF THE TARGET GROUP
Due to the nature of various products for a variety of target groups, the requests and expectations of the client were high. The listing for each product required technical knowledge on the one hand since experienced buyers want detailed descriptions and specifications. On the other hand, the client wanted a unique style adapted for each individual market (e.g. for the French or Spanish version of amazon, altogether 6 different languages).
SOLUTION
Obtaining additional information about the style, test translation for evaluation purposes.
It is our standard workflow to always begin any cooperation with a test translation. We gave the client the possibility to make sure that we really are what they are looking for. The test translation and additional correspondence about the best style for the client and the desired keywords provided enough information for the highest-quality translation. Translators and proofreaders adapted the style of the final text for it to attract potential buyers to actually buy the product. The analysis of the most suitable keywords ensured the actual purchase since it had one goal – to actually attract customers to make a purchase.

CHALLENGE #2
FOLLOWING THE RULES OF AMAZON
The translation needed to follow exact Amazon rules in all languages. The online giant, much like other online stores, has strict rules regarding the length of each listing, its categorisation, and the keywords to be used. To make matters even more interesting, Amazon is keen on changing these rules, e.g. regarding the word order.
SOLUTION
Application of specialised software with text adaptations and testing at publication.
We tackled the challenge with our proprietary software that monitored the strict length limitation, e.g. 150 characters for the header or 300 characters for the main description. Since Amazon listing translations are highly specific, we entrusted the task to experienced translators and proofreaders, who followed the client’s wishes and rules during the process. The translator and the proofreader edited the text so that also featured the keywords, ensuring a better position in online store searches for the client.
In addition to the translation and proofreading completed by a native speaker, the project also featured an industry-specific QA to eliminate any errors before publication on Amazon. We dedicated special attention to the localisation of the terminology for certain markets to make the listings more appealing to the local target groups. The project implementation also followed the strict quality standards ISO 17100 and ISO 9001.

CHALLENGE #3
TECHNICAL TEXT EXTRACTION SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT
New online store listings require a special plugin with the goal of a possibly swift publication in the online store so that the sale can begin as soon as possible. The adaptation to 6 different local stores was very time-consuming for the client and that is where Leemeta came in.
SOLUTION
Direct server link for the entry of new product into the store.
Our software was linked to the Amazon listings via a server interface. Our proprietary software made it possible to transfer the texts of the already listed products directly into our translation environment. The texts in the target languages could therefore be published quicker and the client enjoyed comprehensive support regarding product listings, entering additional products, and adapting the keywords during and after the implementation. However, we needed to ensure that there were no errors during the conversion, which is quite a challenge due to the vast amount of data.
Results:
The company successfully listed their products in localised Amazon stores in 6 countries.
The project followed all the specifics of the products and applied a marketing style appealing to potential buyers. At the same time, it ensured top positioning among product searches in the online store and calls-to-action.
The entire project was completed within the set deadline and featured technical support for the automated transfer of new texts direct into the Amazon listings. We helped the company to boost sales in individual markets and prepare new products to also be featured on Amazon.
